Its been such a long time, sorry, I have been busy with work. Ok, lets start ...

I had the holiday from 28 May to 31 May (4 Days 3 Nights) focused on Sibu Island & Tinggi Island. Reason as, these islands are nearer to Singapore and at a much affordable rates. The traveling time should be around 3 hours land transfer, and 45 minutes sea transfer. (Much time saving compared to Redang & Perhentian Island which requires 10 hours land transfer and 1 hours+ sea transfer.) The plan: book one bus just for us for heading to the island on Friday morning (can enjoy the scenic, food, or maybe shopping on the mainland before the ferry), enjoy the sand & food, spilt group for snorkeling & diving during our 2 to 2 1/2 day stay at the island.

I will briefly give an idea on both the island while waiting for the quotation. After reading these details, please reply via the blog the followings:

• Name of people going
• Plan of stay (for me to plan the number of rooms/chalet/bungalow we should have)
• Option for voting (we shall leave this till a later date when I got hold of the quotation)

===== Tinggi Island =====

What I gathered:

• Very small island with only 2 resorts (isolated island):

• Tinggi Island Resort (Wooden chalet, build in the 80's)
• Nadias Inn Island Resort

Things to do:

• Swimming Pool with Jacuzzi
• Waterfall and Jungle Trekking
• Snorkeling and Diving
• Island Hopping
• Fishing Trips
• Beach Volleyball
• Canoeing

Pulau Tinggi or Tinggi Island is one of the many captivating tropical islands that nestles the East Coast of Johor. Its white, sandy beach surrounded by alluring blue waters makes it a perfect haven for those who want to escape from the mundane world.

Pulau Tinggi gets its name from a high hill rising 2,000 feet above sea level ("tinggi" is a Malay word for high). The island is painted green by the lush tropical forest that is rich with rattan, timber and other valuable plants.

Its surrounding waters is rich with exotic marine life and beautiful underwater flora fringing its coral reefs, providing a breathtaking underwater view for divers and snorkeling enthusiasts. The island is also blessed with natural fresh water and sheltered harbor, which explains its role as a stopover point for traders in the olden days.

Apart from its physical beauty, Pulau Tinggi is also famous for its mystical characters. The locals believe that Malay's most famous hero, Hang Tuah, had stopped here in one of his journeys. It is believed that his spirit still guards the island till these days. Getting There From North-South Expressway take the Ayer Hitam exit (Interchange 244) and drive towards Kluang and onwards using the Kluang-Jemaluang trunk road. After Jemaluang town, get onto the Kota Tinggi-Mersing trunk road, heading towards Mersing. Look out for signboards that will lead you to Mersing Jetty. Pulau Tinggi is approximately 45 minute's boat ride from Mersing Jetty.


===== Sibu Island =====

What I gathered:

• Consist of a Big Sibu and a Small Sibu Island

• with Big Sibu Island having around 8 resorts (more choices of food or maybe shopping, much more commercial than Tinggi Island)
• and Small Sibu Island having only one resort (very private)

• Snorkeling and Diving
• Island Hopping
• Fishing Trips
• Windsurfing
• Beach Volleyball

The lush tropical vegetation and endless stretches of clean golden beaches characterize the Sibu archipelago of islands. The group consists of Pulau Sibu Besar, Pulau Sibu Tengah, Pulau Sibu Hujung, Pulau Kukus, and Pulau Tinggi, 12 kilometres off the east coast. There are clear blue waters and offshore coral reefs. The islands are accessible from the Tanjung Leman jetty, 60 km from Mersing.

An beautiful option is a visit to the nearby kelong, where anchovies are caught or head for the villages on the island of Sibu Besar to see how the natives live. The villagers have kelongs out in the bay where they now rear anchovies and prawns. A few kelongs are used as a fishing retreat. Keen recreational fishermen spend their weekends fishing and bonding with fellow 'inmates' on the platform.

There are simple accommodation on these kelongs, which are for rent. For some adventure, hike through the jungle trails leading to unspoilt mangrove swamps. Sibu Besar is approximately 6 km long and 1 km wide. Getting There The journey by road takes approximately 90 minutes from Johor Bahru to the new ferry terminal at Tanjung Leman. From Kuala Lumpur the drive would be about 5 hours. The boat trip takes about 20 minutes by speedboats. Ferries and bumboats are available. Boat departures can be arranged at any time upon request

Actually the things to do in both the islands are more or less the same, reason as, based on the map that I have attach, both islands are nearby to each other, with Tioman at the top of them.
