For my personal opinion...

Spending is to dote himself/herself who has been working hard all these while and Saving is to plan for the future. I guess both must strike a balance.

Like buying 4D, when u have been working so hard then suddenly numbers give you alot of feeling , hence go buy a BIG bet...( i shall call this spending) once strike , big future is coming...( i shall call this saving) if never strike, treat is as a working experiences... (i shall call this INVESTMENT !! ahaaha..) 4D fans, am i right? ho ho ho..

anyway, everyone has its own way of saving and spending. but me, keep spending and spending.. save too little.. HOW HOW? ben, pour some money into my pocket! i am too lonely! ... Ant, lend me some borrow to buy car leh.. sheng, help me to pay for my school fee, due in 31 dec 2008... hui, can help me to settle my KL trip expenses? ... weijie, can help me to pay for my mobile's bill? ( For Full time students only) .. who willing to contribute to save aw's world. give a little, will makes a different to aw's life!

Yes, I do agree with the points being brought up..Like wat our PM said, spend more to keep the economy going..no spending, no growth. More spending, more growth..BUT, the keyword here is 'Moderation'. Different people has got different earning power, different spending habits, different goals set for their future. Some may foresee the road ahead of them may or may not be smooth sailing.
Lets all talk abt spending. I can have a plate of hokkien mee (add extra mee) which cost $3.50. I can also order a plate of steak which cost $25.00 in a high class restuarant. So, wats the difference?? Both have a common point..and that is both are able to fill up the stomach of urs. The difference? "Enjoyment" is the key difference. Some may choose to settle for a plate of hokkien mee BUT some may choose to Enjoy the food, enjoy the tender and juicyness of the piece of steak. So, the question is...when should i enjoy and and when shld we throttle back our spending???
The answer to it is..."The target that u set!!"

The target set by each individual is different from person to person. Some may wan to have a car at the age of XX, some may wan to have a house at XX, some may wan to achieve a higher qualification at age XX, some may even wan to set up a family at XX...at different stages of life, we have diffenent goals to set and in order to achieve that, its either you 1) Loan from someone 2) Sell ur personal items to get cash OR the all time favourite method - 3) Save in ur piggy bank. Of cse, who dun wan to pamper themself after working so hard for the money? I also wan to eat and enjoy my life, but the key point here is "moderation". There is a chinese saying "First Bitter, then enjoy the sweetness". But i dun agree.. I would prefer it to be " First bitter and sweetness together, THEN enjoy the sweetness".

Again it all boils down to basic.."Is it a Want?" OR "Is it a Need?" Do u really WANT to eat the piece of steak OR do u really NEED to eat the piece of steak? Well, it is we, ourselves who knows the answer....

Guys, this is my own personal views and i can be wrong. I'm not trying to encourage you to be kiasu or stingy in spending..Yes, u can enjoy and spend watever you like or you want..But, the key word here is "SPEND WISELY".....

As Singapore hits a full economic recession in the coming year 09 and with news of more retrenchment being broadcasted especially in banking and automobile industries, many experts have said the right action - Tighten your belts.

But how far can you tighten it? Practically speaking, the last hole punctured in your belt is the furthest you can go. The waist has a limit! You cant save and scrooge every single cent you had earned so far.

The resolution is to keep spending. Keep spending please!!! This is the way to keep the economy moving and get out of this crisis. Consumer expenditures can generate singapore's GDP.

Often enough, you hear friends telling they have no spare money. Oh please... what's that new shirt, jeans & watch that you are wearing for the CNY? They keep the money to pamper themselves and tons of it in the reserves. Cut the crap and stop using the recession as an excuse to hinder your expenditure.

When it's time to spend, SPEND IT!!

Wahah.. Morning! I believe some of you have received my sms, regarding the coming up BBQ session. All pits are full booked on 20 dec 2008. Therefore, it will be held on 21 Dec 2008. For this year, due to economics downturn and some of us are students ( INCLUDE ME!!!!) waha.. hence, will do a small, sweet and simple BBQ. For the pit, I have punished ant to go down to recce the pit. Since he is not helping us in the gate crash, and make us suffer and bully by the sisters.

Yup, planning a BBQ Session.. Simple and Sweet due to market downturn. Getting a BBQ pit near my place however, it is booked by someone else. another option is Sembawang park wahaa... dec 08, i also quite tight up too.. pay still not coming in soon... so sad sad...

got to bring forward this year celebration because i am going to malaysia! wahaha... na na boo boo!!
